When is it:???
Always March 4th
Today is a day that we all can embrace.
It's "Hug a GI Day".
Give a great big hug to any and all GIs you see
today. The men and women in our armed forces
deserve our thanks and appreciation.

GI's perform an invaluable service to our country.
They risk their lives for our freedom,
and to keep us safe.
A simple hug is a small thanks for this
vital service to our country.
In my google search of information about this day,
I found this quote:
"I think the origin of the holiday is because of the
date. It’s the only date in the calendar
that is an order…

that is an order…
March Forth!
It’s a military thing."

Thanks so much for all your freebies and hybrids. Really enjoyed looking thru your blog and I've posted at Digidesignresort about it. Hope you don't mind. In your words - Smuggles and in my - Hugs from Carena
ReplyDeleteOh this is great RhondaSue. Going to find me a GI to hug. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your freebie.
Thank you I saw Carena's post at DDR and since I have a son-in-law in Kuwait and we only live 8 miles from a marine base, I've now marked this date down.
ReplyDeleteI go to the VFW once a week to play bingo and once a month to take a desert for the vets there. I'll be sure to give a hug or two when I see the military boys.
Thanks for the Freebie - LianeZ
