ORGANIZE whenever possible
In my effort to organize myself more, I am going to be re-applying my templates for chores and lists. So I thought I'd repost them all here for you to snag and use as well... I hope there is something here that will help you...

Trying to find "normal"
It is December 28 already! That means the end of the last two months of trying to pull things together for our family as well as the end of 2008...well almost! But I am really missing my online friends and my create time plus my blogging time. I will be getting back to it all ASAP!!!!
We now have Dad living with us. The plan is if he is strong enough and able to travel in the future, he will be with us for 6 months and then go to California by Dave's brother for 6 months. What a retirement, eh? 6 months in Boca Raton, Florida and then 6 months in Pebble Beach, California?! WOW! Can't get much better than that I don't think! LOL! He has gotten stronger and his heart is back in sinus rhythm which is all GREAT! He is still needing to gain strength and some independence back though. We'll get there! The power of prayer is mighty and we are praying every day! We appreciate all of your support, notes, encouragement and prayers! Thank you to all of you for all of those...they do all help!
We hope you had a fantastic Christmas and felt the "reason for the season" in all you did! May 2009 bring everyone happiness, success, peace, love and joy!

I am going to have to procrastinate a bit on awarding this to 10 other blogs for a few weeks. I apologize for that, however, I don't have a choice... I am on my way out of town in a few hours and won't be home for several weeks. My FIL is currently in the hospital and will be released to go home IF and WHEN someone is there to take care of him 24/7. So, I am going to help my SIL get set up and comfortable with the job. I was a CNA for a while in Wisconsin so I do have some experience with this sort of thing. Plus he is my FIL and I'd do anything to help out. SO I am on my there. As soon as I get home again, I will share the love forward! If there is ever a chance while I'm on this trip to relax to do it, I will, however, I'm not counting on that as my FIL's home doesn't have an internet connection of any kind! Thanksgiving Seamless Fills
This share is 4 seamless tiles you can use in your creations as a floodfill as well as the 12x12 papers of the same fills. However, they are all only at 100PPI... They are great for craft projects or using for weblayouts, but if you want to print them, consider changing the ppi to at least 200 in your graphics program. Is everyone enjoying FALL WEATHER? We finally have some here in Florida. It is only in the 70s all week which for me is like heaven! So I'm having a spendid week. Only thing to make it better was if we were out raking all the leaves of gold, greens, reds, and yellows while wearing layers of fleece!

If you believe your wish will come true when you win the break in a
wishbone contest, then you're following in the footsteps of civilizations
dating back to the Etruscans, 322 B.C. And -- it started with a hen, not a
turkey.
In those days, when a man wanted an egg he waited for the hen to announce
the coming of her product. This made the animal mystical in that it could
tell the future -- and that led to what became known as the "hen oracles."
If you lived back then, and wanted to receive an answer to an important
question from these oracles, you would draw a circle on the ground and divide
it into the twenty-four letters of the alphabet. Grains of corn were placed
in each section, and the cock or hen was led into the circle and then set
free. It was believed that the fowl would spell out words or symbols by
picking up kernels of corn from the different sections. For example, the
first letter of a future husband's name would be the first kernel of corn
picked. After writing the message, the fowl was sacrificed to a special deity
and its collarbone was hung out to dry.
Then, you'd get to make a wish on the bone. Then two other people got a
chance to make a wish by snapping the dried bone in the same way we do now,
with each one pulling on an end. The person with the larger end of the bone
got the wish -- and it became known as a "lucky break."
The Romans brought the wishbone tradition with them when they conquered
England, and that's how we got it.

Standardized TOU Initiative ???
In my surfing last night, I came across this link/site and find it all very interesting. But I am wondering what everyone "out there" thinks of it because this is the first time I've seen or heard of it and I just happened to come across it by accident I guess you could say. I know on a blog, it is not easy to get discussion groups going at all, but maybe if you see this and want to discuss it or share it, you can start a discussion within whatever groups or sites you do frequent and maybe more will come to have knowledge of it then. This is intriguing to me, but I'm not stating right now if I agree yet or not... But I am seriously giving it thought!

CandeeCorn Templates for Halloween
I had promised a whole set of CandeeCorn themed templates for Halloween. I apologize for them being so late in getting here. Time is not my own any more and it has been one thing after another around here. Then to top it off, my youngest only had half a day of school today, so then a she and a friend were here all afternoon ... We all enjoyed a good playtime in the pool!
This zip file ONLY has jpg files in it. I am not sure what I was thinking when I did all of it, but I didn't save it as png or psp so all I can share are jpgs. But I did test them all in PSP7 and all the jpgs work fine. Lines are clear and able to select if your tolerance is set correctly. It was fun making these and I sure hope you have fun decorating them into completed projects!
This is also going to be my last Halloween Post... I am going to focus on Thanksgiving now for a few weeks. Then we get into Christmas. That is my most favorite holiday for many reasons! Jesus is the Reason for the Season is the primary one...but it is also so fun to see happiness in kids faces and share the joy of it all with everyone!

Halloween Treat Bag
For each bag you need:
a brown paper lunch bag
novelty glasses with nose, eyebrows, and moustach (Groucho Marks kind)
hole punch
decorating stuff: could be stamps, demensional paint, markers etc.
To make:

1. Use paint or markers to write "Halloween Kit" on front of flattened bag. Use black pen to write "A COSTUME AND A TREAT!" on bag and draw arrow pointed up.
2. Place gift or candy in bag.

3. Fold top of bag about 2" to front. Punch a hole close to top at each side of bag. Insert earpieces of novelty glasses through holes and fold them at the bag.
This makes the cutest, fun treat bag. Everyone always loves them.

Witch's Warty Fingers
Ingredients:
crunchy pretzel sticks
Vanilla frosting
chocolate sprinkles
Put frosting on pretzel sticks and sprinkle sprinkles on.

Witchy Treats
On a cookie sheet freeze place full, round scoops of lime sherbet. Freeze.
When ready to decorate and serve, place a sugar cone on each scoop of
sherbet. (The Hat) Poke short pieces of shoestring black licorice for hair
up under the hat. Use small orange candies for the eyes, and a cashew for
a crooked nose. You can eat the melting creations right away or refreeze
before serving.

Blue Witch's Brew
Serving Size: 4
2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen, thawed blueberries
1 1/4 cups apple juice

cream, milk and cinnamon until smooth.

HALLOWEEN CONE to print and assemble to fill
HALLOWEEN CANDY POUCHES CRAFT
Halloween Candy Pouches
(could be used for other occasions, just change stamp design and
wool color)
Items needed:
- Coffee filter (white)
- Iron
- Hole punch
- Knitting wool, orange or black
- Small rubber Halloween stamps
- Small bead with hole big enough accommodate wool for
drawstring.
- Candy
First, Iron the coffee filter flat.
Fold in quarters, then using hole punch, punch holes around the
edge of the filter so you can run some knitting wool through.
Use small rubber stamps on each quarter of coffee filter, stamp
a design, i.e. Happy Halloween, BOO, etc.
Tip: When stamping, be sure to stamp so that the design is
facing the right direction when drawstring is added.
Run the wool through the holes and weave through filter, add the
bead to the wool and knot and pull drawstring to form pouch.
Add candy. Best of all it's Cheap!

A lady recently being baptized was asked by a co-worker what it was like to be a Christian. She replied, 'It's like being a pumpkin.' God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off you may have gotten from the other pumpkins. Then he cuts the top, scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate and greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.

Boo Brew idea and poem
Put mini marshmallows in a baggie and tie top with curling ribbon. Punch a hole in marshmallow label and tie onto marshmallows. Curl ribbons.
Put hot chocolate and marshmallows in a Halloween cup along with a cinnamon stick or hard candy stick. Add poem.
Sit cup in the center of a large piece of cellophane or plastic wrap. Pull it up around the cup and tie with raffia or curling ribbon.

Soon Halloween will come to all
The spooks are after things to do

As I was out on Halloween Night
I saw above me bats in flight
At the bats I began to look
And felt a crunch underfoot
I began to search around
And found this bat poop on the ground
I decided to try this unusual treat
And found it tastes chocolatey sweet
So I thought I would share a scoop
Of the infamous BAT POOP!!!

mini marshmallows--ghosts noses
pretzel sticks--bat bones
candy corn--bird beaks
cheerios--eye sockets
chocolate chips--bat droppings
gummy worms--worms
raisins--shrivelled eye balls

Batty Pizza
Adults do the first part, then kids can help.
1. Adults only: Use a sharp knife to cut a Pita pocket bread in half.
2. Make a zigzag pattern on the bottom edge of each half to form bat wings.
3. Place on a baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce over the bread and top with shredded mozzarella cheese and sliced black and green olives.
4. Place in a 400°F oven and bake until the cheese melts.
5. To assemble the bat, place the wings side by side on a plate and add an extra piece of Pita bread to form the head.
Don't forget the black olive eyes.

1/2 c. plain low fat yogurt OR mayo
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/2 c. shelled sunflower seeds
16 thin slices of pumpernickel bread
In a med. bowl, mix tuna, yogurt (or mayo), basil and sunflower seeds
until well blended. Cover and chill until ready to use.
Cut off crusts from bread. Using a bat shaped cookie cutter, cut out
shape from each slice.
Spread 8 cut out slices with tuna mixture; top with remaining slices.

A very dear friend of mine for years moved to Florida not long ago and we got to meet finally! It is great to connect with someone like that. But she has been making "ANGEL SAYINGS" for years. It is all meant to be uplifting and encouraging no matter what struggle you're facing or what issue seems insurmountable... Over the years of receiving and collecting them, many of them have "hit home" for me personally and todays is one of those so I thought I'd share it here with you. Her name is Patty...

WOW how time flies!
I am shocked to realize it is already October 3! 2008 seems to be going be in the blink of an eye.
I am working on some more candeecorn templates as well as a few other fall goodies. I'll get more posted over the weekend and into next week. THEN I am going to focus on Thanksgiving for a week or two and then work on Christmas! I am so excited..... This is my favorite time of year to get creative!
I am also going to be posting "ideas", recipes, and craft ideas for each of the holiday themes as well. I have a world of goodies hidden away in my files just begging to be let out to good homes that will like to use them! So come back soon... There will be lots of goodies to come!
HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!

PS...for those that don't know, SMUGGLES means hugs with smiles all around! MAKE TODAY COUNT and remember to not go to bed tonight before you think of at least 5 things from your day to be grateful for and then tell everyone you love that they count!

Mini Candybar Holder Cards
These are fun candy cards for you to attach (using double sided tape) the candy of your choice to and hand out on Trick Or Treating night/afternoon or for those classroom parties. They are great for your grandkids, neighbors, friends, coworkers, anyone you want to give a little something to. What you see here is reduced in size and quality for preview purposes only. CandeeCorn Template 1
I try to come up with a different theme every year for a "set" of templates that can be used for a variety of projects. This year, I chose the CandeeCorn concept. The first one I'm sharing is for a sucker cover. The directions are on the file and the zip you will download includes the .png, .psp for version 7, and .jpg files. There will be a lot more coming with this theme so watch for the updates. I will post last years themed ones soon. They are more for fall/thanksgiving, not so much for Halloween. Again, any questions, feel free to ask...
