Paulette at CREATE WITH TLC has personally created a beautiful canvas Christmas decoration for one lucky winner. You can't see it in the photo, but this magical canvas is sprinkled with iridescent Christmas glitter and sparkles in the light.

There are a few different ways you can earn entries for the drawing, the most important being that you must be a follower of her blog.

You will have one week to enter, so get your entry in before it closes!
HOP ON OVER TO HER POST to enter for the drawing!  You don't want to miss out on this!

Toilet Paper Snowman

Marci Coombs created a really cute snowman craft!  We are using the idea for a group of kids to make at our "KIDS DAY" at the local Theatre.  To add to it, I generated a tag using her poem that the kids can attach to be able to give it as a gift to someone.  These are free printables for you to click on and open in a new window and save to your own computer for your own use.  Be sure to visit the original post at Marci's website and share some love with her for sharing the original idea!

PHOTO From Marci Coombs:

Here are the printable tags I created to accent this fun creation

This printable is made using elements created and shared by Paulette at CREATE WITH TLC.
The papers are from SNOWMAN SOUP
The snowflakes are from DEC FREEBIES (but don’t know which year)
The wordart is from Winter Scrappin Club 2007

Just click on it to open it full size in a new window and then save it to your own computer to use when you want.

I put chocolate kisses inside a baggie and inside the folded topper.

CREATE WITH TLC treasures not to miss

Life has had me extremely busy and not in a creative way that I can post it all here...  but let me tell ya, Paulette over at CREATE WITH TLC has kept herself extremely busy with her creative outlets!  There is a new club going on right now....  It started yesterday and there were already 18 images sent out as part of this club.  If you are not a CLUBBER, you are missing out on a lot of great elements to use in your creative outlets!!  Check it out HERE:

Paulette also has several pages to explore from her homepage.  Her HOMEPAGE is loaded with tons of freebies that you must get within a few days of it getting posted because they do get converted to the store after a while...  But if you check out the link at the top called VINTAGE GRAPHICS you will be taken to a page with a LOT of wonderful freebie vintage digistamps for your snaggin fingers to get happy over.  Here is the direct link to that page, but please don't miss the homepage in your eagerness to go get the freebies... AND DO NOT forget to leave your appreciation/love for what she so freely gives us.  Remember what goes around comes around and without that word of thanks to Paulette for her generosity, we may all miss out on a lot of treasures if she stops sharing...  Here are some samples of those goodies:

Another thing Paulette has a passion for is sharing some TLC in the way of RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness).  One way to do this is by making a card or a bookmark or a gift box or a refrigerator magnet or anything that appeals to your own personal creative side.  She always shares what I call "HALLMARK HOLIDAYS".  Some of them are so wild and crazy that you think "only hallmark could possibly think of that as a special day event"...  But they are so fun to see in her list on the left side of her HOMEPAGE.  And she will share freebies a LOT to be designed towards those crazy fun days!  Just go check it out if you don't believe me!  Here is a sampling of the upcoming holidays:
July 9
Sugar Cookie Day
Rock n Roll Day

July 10
Don't Step on a Bee Day
Teddy Bear Picnic Day
Pina Colada Day
Hot Dog Night
Smile Power Day

Well... If you've read to this point, I want to extend a warm hug to you and wishes for a very fun and blessed Sunday as well as the week ahead!  THANK YOU so much for visiting my blog even when I'm not having time to share creative inspirations.

I saw this over on Bumble Bee's Craft Den and thought is was something worth thinking about. A LOT of people don't seem to want to pay a lot for handcrafted items or think that maybe they should be cheaper than a mass produced item, so this poster hits the nail on the head really! Most crafters don't get paid anything like the minimum hourly rate and can take hours handmaking an item and I think sometimes people forget this!

In Florida, when I would try to attend a "craft show" it was not CRAFTS at all.  It was ART ... like massive expensive oil paintings and glass sculptures.  If you could find anything that didn't belong in Tiffany's showroom, it would have been a "craft" and they were so over priced that it was downright scary!  I think those crafters figured if they were in the ART shows they could overcharge and still sell their wares.  There really is a fine line of how to define this...but I can also say that something is only worth as much as it will sell for.  PRICING is a huge thing... Presentation is another.  If it is presented well, the pricing can be up a little... FOR SURE!  But as a rule of thumb I have found that if something cost me $1.00 to make, I could sell it for $2.00 usually.  But I'm sure if something cost anyone $100 to make, to charge $200 might not be enough....I don't speak for those "high end crafters"...  Here in Michigan, there are a LOT of craft shows and all seem to be "seasonal".  The prices have been increasing, but it sure makes sense when the cost of EVERYTHING is increasing.  So along with being fair to the crafter for their time and love spent on something is the fact that the cost of materials has increased quite a bit over the years too!

Enough of my soap box... And since I'm over tired, I hope this makes sense...  BACK TO CRAFTING FOLKS!  I have always looked at my crafting as something that is supposed to be FUN so I vote lets get back to having FUN!!!!!!!!!

So much better than fried!!!
Melt in Your Mouth Chicken Breast
1/2 c parmesan cheese
1 c Greek yogurt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 tsp pepper
spread mix over chicken breasts
bake at 375 45 mins

This was a pin on a pinterest board I happened upon...
but when I tried to repin it, it would not let me.  SO, I
am sharing it here so (1) I don't lose it and (2) it just
looks way too good to not be shared!

I take NO credit for the recipe or the picture!

National Bird Day

Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013

Why National Bird Day?
  • The beauty, songs, and flight of birds have long been sources of human inspiration.
  • Today, nearly 12 percent of the world's 9,800 bird species may face extinction within the next century, including nearly one-third of the world's 330 parrot species.
  • Birds are sentinel species whose plight serves as barometer of ecosystem health and alert system for detecting global environmental ills.
  • Many of the world's parrots and songbirds are threatened with extinction due to pressures from the illegal pet trade, disease, and habitat loss.
  • Public awareness and education about the physical and behavioral needs of birds can go far in improving the welfare of the millions of birds kept in captivity.
  • The survival and well-being of the world's birds depends upon public education and support for conservation.
This is the reason for National Bird Day.
